What a wonderful event and a heart-warming experience!!! On Tuesday, September 10, 2013, the Kathryn R. Nelson Memorial Foundation hosted an event at a local children's hospital. It was a wonderful experience and something that will be long remembered by all those that helped!
The kids were first able to pick out a costume. They were SO excited! And even more so when they realized they were actually able to keep the costume! :) We also had lots of art supplies from which the kids were able to select. Crayons, colored pencils, markers, coloring books, notebooks--the kids had fun "shopping" for everything they wanted! We also had some toys they were able to choose from and keep. Lastly, we thoroughly enjoyed doing a variety of crafts with the kids.
Our goal was to simply help the kids forget about being sick--if only for one hour. Our hearts were warmed as we watched the excitement of superheroes and princesses make their way through the various activities. Some of the families mentioned that their child hadn't been able to be out of their hospital room for awhile. So it was awesome to see their joy and energy as they made their way through the various activities!
We can't thank you enough for your generosity and kindness in making this event happen. Each and every donation made this event possible.
